French all-business-class carrier La Compagnie will add Germany to its network in 2027 by launching nonstop flights between Düsseldorf and New York/Newark Liberty International.

The new service is scheduled to begin on April 21, 2027 and will operate up to five times weekly during the summer season. La Compagnie will be the only airline offering nonstop flights between Düsseldorf and the New York area. At the same time, the route will also restore a direct US connection to the German airport for the first time since Delta Air Lines ended its Düsseldorf-Atlanta service in October 2023.

La Compagnie will operate the flights with a new Airbus A321LR, due to join the fleet in March 2027. The aircraft will be configured with 76 fully flat Business Class seats in a 2-2 layout. From Düsseldorf, flights are scheduled to depart at 1200hrs, reaching Newark at 1435hrs, while the return service leaves New Jersey at 2100hrs and arrives in Germany at 1020hrs the following morning.

Düsseldorf will become La Compagnie’s fourth European destination from Newark, joining Paris/Orly, Milan/Malpensa and Nice. The airline said North Rhine-Westphalia’s strong commercial links with the US helped drive its decision, with around 1,700 US companies operating in the region.

“Düsseldorf represents a natural next chapter in La Compagnie’s development,” said Christian Vernet, the airline’s president and CEO. “At the heart of one of Europe’s most dynamic economic regions, with strong international businesses and longstanding ties to the United States, North Rhine-Westphalia is well suited to our unique all-business-class model. We look forward to welcoming travellers from the region on board, while also offering our American clientele a new and convenient gateway to Germany.”

The incoming A321LR will increase La Compagnie’s fleet to three aircraft. Further expansion is planned for 2028 with the arrival of a fourth aircraft, an Airbus A321XLR, which will provide additional range and flexibility for future transatlantic growth.
