Airliner World November 2025

Airliner World November 2025

Highlights

  • Welcome to the big orange November 2025 edition of Airliner World, incorporating Airports of the World. Thirty years ago, on a wet and miserable November day, the first ever easyJet flight took to the skies from London/Luton, bound for Glasgow. Fast-forward three decades, and the airline has grown to become the biggest scheduled carrier in the UK and one of Europe’s biggest low-cost carriers.
  • Kicking off our easyJet 30th anniversary special, the airline’s founder, Sir Stelio Haj-Ioannou, writes an exclusive foreword, explaining its origins, before Lee Cross delves into the carrier’s colourful and ground-breaking history.
  • From easyJet’s past, to easyJet’s present and future, Thomas Haynes chats to the airline’s CEO, Kenton Jarvis, who gives his first magazine interview since taking the reins earlier this year. From Heathrow slots to the potential of the Chinese-built Comac C919 appearing in easyJet’s iconic Pantone 021C orange, there’s a lot to talk about.
  • Robert Veitch, meanwhile, catches up with Lahiru Ranasinghe to discuss the strategy for reaching net zero by 2050, and David Morgan, chief operating officer, to learn how easyJet is embracing AI to improve efficiency.
  • We also hear from the airline’s people. We interview two pilots who broke barriers to take their seats in the flight deck and speak to ‘Nana Pam,’ Europe’s oldest serving cabin crew member, plus Jane Boulton, the star of the TV show ‘Airline,’ reflects on her time on the iconic programme.
  • From one low-cost airline to another, Bernie Baldwin chats to the CEO of Saudi Arabian budget carrier flyadeal, which has been developing rapidly since it started operations in September 2017.
  • For our Airports of the World fans, Robert Veitch celebrates the 25th anniversary of the opening of Bilbao’s iconic terminal, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. Sticking with airports, Andreas Rhode visits King County International Airport in Seattle to learn how the future once looked.
  • If that wasn’t enough, we also have stories from Chris Croot about the Airbus A340, the quadjet that won’t quit and Siddharth Ganesh about Japanese carrier Air Do.
