A winding-up petition against UK aviation start-up Global Airlines has been adjourned until October 7 following a court hearing on September 23.

The case was heard by Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Greenwood, with HM Courts and Tribunals Service confirming to Airliner World that the matter has now been adjourned to the court’s interim list at 1030hrs on October 7.

No winding-up order was made at the September 23 hearing.

The petition was presented on May 29 by creditor Jessica Huffman Reese. A winding-up petition is a request for the court to place a company into compulsory liquidation, but the filing of a petition does not itself mean that a company has been wound up or is insolvent.

Global Airlines Ltd continues to be listed as active at Companies House.

The company has been developing plans to operate Airbus A380s. Its sole aircraft, 9H-GLOBL (c/n 120), has not operated regular passenger services since the carrier’s limited transatlantic programme in 2025.

The A380 is currently stored at Tarbes in France while awaiting further heavy maintenance.

Global Airlines has been approached for comment.
